Graduate Council Information

The University Graduate Council consists of voting members and non-voting, ex officio members. Voting members are drawn from and represent the graduate faculty of West Virginia University. The Graduate Council meets monthly, and its activities include determining the rules for Graduate Faculty membership, conducting reviews of all graduate programs every 5 years on behalf of the WVU Board of Governors, approving requests for new graduate programs (including degree programs, certificates, majors, and areas of emphasis), approving requests for program changes and terminations, and considering major policy issues related to graduate education.
