I grew up in central Michigan and attended Michigan State University majoring in Animal Science. At MSU, I was involved in the sheep program and was a member of the Meats Judging Team. After graduation, I started a M.S. program at Virginia Tech addressing terminal sire options for hair sheep producers in the southeastern United States focusing on parasite resistance and improvements to carcass merit. This program led me to WVU where I will be further exploring selection for parasite resistance in sheep and associated mechanisms of resistance. After graduation, I would like to work in extension focusing on ruminant livestock production.
