New Graduate Student Orientation 2023
Monday, August 16, 2023 via Zoom
If you are making plans to attend WVU in August, you’re invited to attend the virtual New Graduate Student Orientation (NGSO) on Monday, August 16, from 3:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. via Zoom offered by the Office of Graduate Education & Life (OGEL). Please click here to register.
During NGSO, you will learn about library
resources, receive Title IX training, and hear from the President and
Vice-President of the Graduate and Professional Student Senate (GPSS). Even
though this orientation is not required, we strongly encourage you to attend as
you will find the topics covered beneficial to your academic and personal
success at WVU. This orientation is optional to the students who are already
attending orientation sessions offered by their graduate programs. If your
program-specific orientation conflicts with the OGEL orientation schedule, we
recommend that you attend the one offered by your academic program.
If you plan to attend NGSO on August 16, please kindly let us know by clicking here. Registration will close Friday, August 13 at 11:59 p.m.
We look forward to meeting you and welcoming you to the WVU campus!
In
addition to this live session of the NGSO, you can also view another module of orientation through which you’ll learn
about OGEL, services we provide, and WVU resources that may be beneficial to
your success in graduate school. You can view the recording any time at your
convenience. Should you have questions regarding the orientation, please feel
free to email GradEd@mail.wvu.edu or call (304)
293-7173. In the meantime, please learn about our office through graduateeducation.wvu.edu/.
Please watch Module 1 before attending our New Graduate Student Orientation on August 16. Thank you and we look forward to welcoming our new Mountaineers.
